This is a general PPTP error that is most often caused by router or security software interference.
Solution:
- Ensure that PPTP passthrough is enabled on your router. Consult your router's documentation on the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to do this.
- Temporarily disable your firewall and/or other security software.
If you are connecting to a network for which you are unable to modify these settings it may be necessary to change the protocol. You can upgrade your account, if necessary, here. Click on the "Account" tab to access this feature.
