To check how many Usenet connections are allowed with your account, please first log into your account here.
Once logged in, look at the Features on the left side of the page to see how many concurrent Usenet connections your account is allocated for.
If you experience an error stating Too many connections to server -- exceeded maximum number of connections per user, we recommend setting your newsreader to use 5 fewer connections than its maximum number.
For the example account above, if the user sets their newsreader to use 50 connections, the user may at times get disconnected from the server due to too many concurrent connections. This happens because some newsreaders will create new connections before fully closing existing ones.
If the user instead sets their connections to 45, they will be much less likely to experience this issue.
If you are suddenly disconnected from our servers with an error stating "Too many simultaneous connections" or similar, please try lowering your maximum connections, disconnecting from Usenet for at least 15 minutes, and then try again.
