Although the default Automatic port selection for the OpenVPN protocol is very reliable for establishing a connection, it is also possible to specify a port or range of ports for OpenVPN to connect over. We typically do not recommend this unless advised by support, or if you have a specific need to connect over a particular port.
Port selection is only available for the OpenVPN protocol. Use the following instructions to enable port selection on Windows:
- Open VyprVPN and select Customize in the bottom left
- Select Protocol
- Set the protocol to OpenVPN, and then select Configure
- Select Manual, and then input your desired port or range of ports. Select Apply when finished.
VyprVPN will use the selected port or range of ports when establishing OpenVPN connections.
